(1) We learned how to survey land for a house by using a building level. Surveying land shows how much of a property the house owns and is able to take up. Also, it ensures builders that they’re aren’t going over height code when building a home. The steps in
setting up a building level are as follows:
Step one-set up the tripod on a flat surface.
Step two-screw the lens directly on top of the tripod.
Step three-make sure the bubble on the lens is directly in the middle. This is so your “shot” is completely even and accurate.
Step four- someone uses a tape measurer and you take your “shot."
(2) Today we we got into groups and had a competition on who could build the most stable and clean cut box. The winner with the best all around box gets to pick the flooring, tiling e.t.c for the houses that we’re building. Before we could do this challenge we had to learn how to correctly and safely use a table saw.
steps to safely use a table saw:
Step one-set up the table where the saw will sit.
Step two-put on safety glasses
Step three- put the saw carefully on the table and latch it on so it doesn’t fall off or wiggle when you are cutting pieces of wood.
Step four-make sure there isn’t anything or anyone around you that could bump into you, distract you or trip you.
Step five-plug in your saw and test it to make sure it is working properly (before cutting anything.). Put the material underneath the saw and line up where you want the cut to be, with the laser.
Step six-at a steady pace cut the materials. Once you’re done make sure the saw has stopped and the area is safe for the next user.
(3) A hammer is mainly used to put things in wood or to pull out nails.
How to use a hammer and nail:
step one- choose a hammer with a proper weight for you.
step two- adjust the grip according to how much force you want (further down more force and higher up less)
step three- line up the hammer with the nail and smash it.
Step 1: secure the bit whether using a chuck key or just turning the the chuck on the cordless
Step 2: plug in the device
Step 3: change setting for what you are drilling.
Step 4: Drill
(5) Tape Measurer
